2005-2008 AUDI A6 STEERING COLUMN ADJUSTMENT CONTROL ... (Lena Abbott)
Steering column will or will not lock. When use key to start you car,it is OK to swith,but the dashboard light off and can not unlock the steering lock,engine will not start. I would love to give you my car for repair.
You do not need to remove it completely, but if you want to you will need to remove the drivers' side lower storage compartment (yellow arrows) to be able to angle the piece off the steering column adjustment lock.
I asked service reps if a new one is mis programmed by Audi service it is no good anymore and can't be corrected none of them would not answering here known fact about the steering column lock.
