There was odd behavior - occasionally stations would change on their own and the CD player would skip tracks. The Bose system most likely has different frequencies than those used by JL audio, if so is the case, it would not sound good. The Audi Sound System is standard, with Bose surround sound and the Bang & Olufsen Advanced Sound System available as options.
I would either just replace the speakers if damaged, or if you really want a good sound system, you need to get.
Obviously, Audi want to upgrade people to the other systems so they're not going to make the standard cheaper options as good.

I never had the Audi sound system, in my old car I had the standard sound system and it was okay, and okay is a very generous opinion.
