Your post let me know what I was getting into, so it saved me a ton of time. Has it really got to the point where you need a computer to replace your rear brake pads on your new Audi or Volkswagen car? I replaced my front & rear brakes, rotors, and sensors today.
Rear brake pads last longer than front pads because they're having to deal with less kinetic energy; there tends to be less weight over the rear axle and the rear brake discs on most cars are smaller than the front discs.
The entire project was flawless until the last brake/rotor replacement, which was the rear passenger side.

This caliper piston is manufactured to be just like the OE part that was included with your. A mate of mine attempted to replace my worn rear pads (he is a qualified mech) managed to get the old pads out as per any "normal" car but you could not get the piston in the calipers to go back - quick call to Poole Audi who were really quick to help out said " you need to use the VAGCOM software to.
