Electrical components such as your map light, radio, heated seats, high beams, power windows all have fuses and if they suddenly stop working, chances are you have a fuse that has blown out. If it aint working the compressor will not kick in. The various electrical circuits are protected by fuses.
Check fuses position on the image.
I would remove bottom dash trim, replug and inspect all the relays up by the fuse box.
